For the duration of class, we discussed the topic of
journalism. We talked about the structure and how an article should include a
lede, important details, other details, and a quote. Additionally, we talked
about how reports should write unbias articles by leaving out their opinions.
Also, we discussed about the different ways of viewing the information.
Newspapers, magazines, and news were three different ways that journalist get
the information out into the world. Personally, I like the news because you get
a visual of what you are learning about. Citizen journalism was another topic
that came up in class. Framing, I think was the most interesting thing about
journalism. In particular, I think it is fascinating how the area where the
story is being published effect the title. For example, during 9/11 there were
many articles that went out about it. However, the titles of basically the same
information ranged from terror, war on America, to bastard!.
